WHERE THE EVIDENCE STANDS
Animal work links MOTS-c to AMPK signalling, glucose handling and exercise capacity; human data are observational (circulating levels) and early-phase. A Phase 2a study has been referenced in secondary sources and will be cited here once the registry record is confirmed.
MOTS-c was placed in Category 2 in September 2023 and recommended for the 503A bulks list by the FDA's advisory committee in July 2026 by 7 votes to 5 with two abstentions. It was named in a Harvard Chan School explainer of October 2026 among compounds promoted online.
