WHERE THE EVIDENCE STANDS
Four Phase 3 trials reported topline results in 2026: TRANSCEND-T2D-1 in March (A1C down 1.7 to 2.0 points; 16.8 % weight reduction at 40 weeks), TRIUMPH-1 in May (28.3 % at 80 weeks; 30.3 % at 104 weeks on the escalated 12 mg arm), and TRIUMPH-2 and TRIUMPH-3 in July (20.8 % and 22.6 % at 80 weeks). A knee-osteoarthritis trial, TRIUMPH-4, reported first in December 2025.
All results so far are sponsor press releases; gastrointestinal adverse events are the dominant tolerability issue. A cardiovascular outcomes trial is ongoing and a regulatory submission is planned for the first quarter of 2027. The compound is not approved anywhere.

Between March and July 2026 Eli Lilly reported topline results from TRANSCEND-T2D-1, TRIUMPH-1, TRIUMPH-2 and TRIUMPH-3. Weight reduction at 80 weeks on the 12 mg dose ranged from 20.8 % to 28.3 % depending on the population.
